ABOUT NICK FLODSTROM
I am 24 and I race karts based out of Oakleigh Go Kart Racing Club. On race day, I’m lucky enough to have the have the help from my very supportive parents Lars and Elena who play an integral part in the teams success, my partner Emma who is our strategist and Lochlan who wields the spanners. I have been doing this for 10 years now. During this time, I have placed in the club championship in in my category every year since 2017 and each year the competition gets faster and faster, driving me to my goal....to reign supreme in Victorian Combined Medium at Oakleigh. I am currently leading 2 separate karting championships leading me to my main goal for 2021, to snag the win at City of Melbourne Titles this year. I intend to achieve this by breaking it down into smaller, realistic goals.

My racing career has opened some pretty cool opportunities which include working alongside Red Bull Racing Formula One team, driving an electric single seater for RMIT Electric Racing and working with Penrite Oil as an ambassador. I have also developed and implemented the Young Drivers Academy at Lemans Entertainment teaching kids from twelve to eighteen the intricacies of racing karts both physically and mentally. I also hold the position of Elite Driver Coach a Le Mans Entertainment, helping drivers acheive their on track goals.
Off track I have an Honours degree in Industrial Design, specialising in mobility design. This year I start my Masters of Teaching where I hope to pair my knowledge of design with my passion for teaching to inspire the next generation about Visual Communication. Along with the karting academy, I am a coach of national level swimmers and have a swim teaching background. This where I taught children as young as four to swim. I love being active myself, I swim and enjoy mountain bike riding to stay fit.
This one is a bit of a fun fact for those who stuck around to read this entire thing. I have broken a bone in the same week every year since 2014. I know it’s weird, but it’s true.

I would like to thank my sponsors for keeping me at the front of the field, Penrite Oil, Motiv8 Training and Management, Le Mans Entertainment, Framing To a T and A-Emergency Appliance repairs.
Thanks for listening to my Ted Talk.
